Celia Cook

“It has changed my life.”

Celia Cook attends Starlight Outpatient Services groups and now also volunteers in Creative Arts groups at the Hospice because she felt she wanted to give something back. Celia said: “My sister was my best friend, she died in the Inpatient Unit in November 2017 and from the moment she arrived, everyone was so wonderful and being here provided so much comfort. During this time, I was asked if I wanted to attend the Talking Space group and since then, I haven’t missed one session. I didn’t think I could carry on after losing my sister, but being involved with Starlight groups taught me that life is worth living – I really believe that if it wasn’t for Peace Hospice Care, I wouldn’t be here today. The support I’ve had as a relative…I can’t measure it. It has changed my life.”
