On 1st December 2021, we launched our Christmas fundraising appeal, which invites supporters to sponsor a Peace Hospice Care nurse working in our Inpatient Unit or in the community.
Amid increasing pressures on nursing staff, supporters can choose to donate different amounts to help ensure that the Hospice’s patients and their families continue to receive exceptional care this Christmas, with £24 paying for one hour of care.
Michele Folds, a nurse on our Inpatient Unit, said: “Throughout the pandemic, we have provided end of life care to local people at the Hospice and in the community. The need for our care is continuing to rise and we want to support as many patients and their families as we can, but the current situation is tough.”
Dan Mason, Individual Giving Manager at Peace Hospice Care, said: “Peace Hospice Care nurses like Michele provide exceptional care to local people with life-limiting illnesses and their families all year round. But demand for our services is growing and our wonderful nurses are under increasing pressure. By sponsoring a nurse this Christmas, you can help ensure that our patients and their families continue to receive the care and support they need when they need it most.”
