Shops to Re-open to Customers

Today we can announce that six of our charity shops will re-open to customers on 29th June, just under two weeks after they opened for taking donations. These shops are; Radlett, Watford Pond, Bushey, St Albans, Garston and Borehamwood. Opening times are: Monday-Saturday, 10am- 4pm.

Our Retail team have been preparing the shops for re-opening with thorough cleaning, and all donations have been quarantined for 72 hours, in line with Government guidelines.

Sarah Goad, Director of Income Generation at Peace Hospice Care, said: “We are so excited to be finally opening our shops for customers. The support we have received so far has been outstanding and we are so thankful to everyone who has donated items to us over the last couple of weeks. Our Retail team have been busy setting up these six shops with measures, in line with Government advice, to ensure they are safe for shoppers. These measures include: limiting the number of people in shops, implementing social distancing, asking customers to use contactless payment where possible, providing hand sanitiser at shops’ entrances, taking fitting rooms out of use and providing staff with face coverings. We are still asking for the support of our local community during these challenging times, and I am looking forward to welcoming customers back to shop with us again.”

Due to our shops being closed and fundraising events postponed, Peace Hospice Care looks set to lose £240,000 in the month of June, so we are asking the local community for their support in buying items from our shops.
