Nikki Avron, owner of Encore Pilates, presented Peace Hospice Care with a cheque last month to mark the £1565.90 raised for us at her Pilates Day fundraiser in November. The event took place in memory of Nikki’s friend and colleague, Pauline Angold.
Nikki said: “Pauline and her family received the most wonderful care and support from the Hospice in the final two weeks of her life. Her family will always be so grateful for the help they gave and continue to give, in particular to her husband and their four boys.”
The charity day was a great success; Nikki said, “It was a joyous day. There were five classes – from beginner to intermediate, using Matwork and Reformer Pilates. Lots of attendees were already clients of Encore Pilates, but some new faces came to the beginner class. All of these were Pauline’s family and friends, which made it very intimate, personal and emotional.”
Money raised from fundraising events such as Nikki’s means that we can continue to provide care and support to patients and their families. For more information about different ways to get involved in fundraising, please visit:
