Charity Golf Day Smashes Target

Over £41,000 has been raised, so far, following Peace Hospice Care’s charity Golf Day which took place on Monday 15th October at The Grove in Watford. Fifteen businesses, as well as individuals, took part in the event which, sponsored by Ricoh, smashed its fundraising target.

The event raised funds from entry fees and, also, an auction which gave those taking part the opportunity to bid to directly support Peace Hospice Care’s services, including the charity’s Talking Space wellbeing sessions and running the meditation group for a year.

Phil Keoghan, CEO of Ricoh UK & Ireland, said: “We at Ricoh are proud to support Peace Hospice Care and the excellent work they carry out with patients, families and carers. Having lived in the Watford area all my life, I am very aware of the talent and teamwork of the specialists who deliver supportive care to those facing life-limiting illnesses. The event was a fantastic success raising awareness and funds for such a worthwhile cause.”
Gemma Shortman, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Peace Hospice Care, said: “Thanks to the amazing support of local businesses our Golf Day raised an incredible amount. We were thrilled to have Ricoh as our headline sponsors this year and it’s been a pleasure working with them. From the very beginning it was clear to see that they didn’t want any recognition, they just wanted to do their bit to support our patients and their families. Thank you also to our golfers, holes sponsors, prize donors, The Grove and Rob Holland at Sports and Trophies for supporting the day.”

The winners on the day were:
• Team: Activ8.
• Men’s Individual: Chris Kalli, Ricoh UK & Ireland
• Women’s Individual: Val Pryor (who entered as an individual with friends)

The fifteen businesses that put in teams for the event were: Hi-Fi City, GPFM, DLL, Hamerville Media Group, Enerco, West Watford Golfing Society, Imagine, Careys, Sarratt Office Supplies, Ricoh UK, M.K. Ginder & Sons, Consolidated Equities, Bugler, Activ8 and Metro Bank.
The individual holes were sponsored by: Enerco, M.K.Ginder & Sons, Bushey Blinds, Bugler, V360, GPFM, Activ8, Abbots UK LTD, Careys and Stimpsons.

The event, which smashed its target, was sponsored by Ricoh.
