We launched our 30th anniversary Skydive, taking place on Sunday 18th July 2021, last month and we’ve had a fantastic response so far including a sign-up from our very own CEO, Jackie Tritton. We spoke to Jackie about why she decided to register.
“I’ve always wanted to take on the once-in-a-lifetime challenge of doing a sky dive, so when the opportunity arose to do a sky dive whilst raising money for the Hospice, I signed up immediately. We’ve all had such a difficult year through the Covid-19 pandemic, and with light at the end of the tunnel now and restrictions easing, I think it’s so important to live for the moment and push yourself out of your comfort zone. I had an accident two years ago in which I unfortunately broke both my ankles – I think that spurred me on even more to take on this challenge, and prove to myself that this is something I can do. My son, Matthew, has also signed up to the Skydive so we’ll be supporting each other on the day – my family and friends are all so proud of what I’m doing. With this being our 30th anniversary year, I am also very excited to mark it with such an unforgettable experience.
I’m so pleased to see so many people sign up for the event, and as CEO of Peace Hospice Care, I know how vital this support is. The money raised by our incredible supporters as part of this event will enable us to continue providing our free services, supporting patients and their families in our community.”
