Become a Compassionate Neighbours Volunteer

Join the Compassionate Neighbours team

We are part of the Compassionate Neighbours network, providing free emotional and social support for people in our community living with a serious or life-limiting illness who are experiencing loneliness. We train a team of volunteers who are each matched with a local community member based on shared hobbies, interests and location.

We want to provide support to as many people in the community as possible, and to do that we are looking for more volunteers to join the team.

Compassionate Neighbours volunteers support people by:

  • Visiting regularly
  • Offering friendship, emotional support and a listening ear
  • Helping them to do the things they like doing
  • Helping them stay connected to the community as well as family and friends

Volunteers will be provided with full training and will be supported by our Compassionate Communities Co-ordinator, Emma.
