Peace Hospice Care in Watford is an experienced IAPT Counselling provider. We are extending our close working relationship with other local hospices as they become Hospice Hubs for our IAPT Service. Peace Hospice Care serves South West Hertfordshire and our Hospice Hubs serve North Hertfordshire. The Hospices provide Community Services to patients and families in their homes, Outpatient Services including Counselling & Bereavement, Rehabilitation and Wellbeing services, and Inpatient Care.

We are currently seeking BACP Registered counsellors with significant post-qualification experience to train to become part of our IAPT counselling team. The IAPT training course is due to take place between April and June.

Both face-to- and remote counselling is provided by the service, and we would expect you to be flexible about how you work with clients.

This role provides options for volunteering with the hospices’ bereaved clients. You will need to provide 10 blocks of sessions in a voluntary capacity throughout the year.

• Provide IAPT compliant, time limited individual counselling to adults referred to the service, adhering to session limits and models as defined by the service.
• Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service, including, but not limited to, the minimum dataset at each counselling session.
• Enter client data on the Patient Information Systems, as required.
• Attend monthly supervision
• Complete four hours of e-learning a year
• Participate in team meetings
• Provide clients with options of other services that will provide longer term support

In addition to being registered with BACP, UKCP or a similar professional organisation we would expect you to possess the following attributes:

• A belief in inclusivity and equality
• Warmth, reliability, transparency
• Excellent communication skills
• An awareness of the importance of emotional self-care
• An understanding of the importance of boundaries and confidentiality
• Commitment to the ethos and values of the Hospices
• The ability to offer some evening or weekend sessions

We are committed to providing training and development opportunities to all. In addition to the IAPT training, you will receive a general introduction to the Hospices as well as a personal induction to your role. Additionally, we have a range of CPD events that we encourage counsellors to participate in.

● A named contact who will provide ongoing support
● An allocated clinical supervisor
● Access to meetings and social events

● All roles are subject to receipt of satisfactory references from someone who is not related to you and has known you (preferably in a professional capacity) for over two years
● Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks
● You should ensure that you can meet the physical requirements of the role that you are applying for.
