HR Administrator – Fixed Term Contract – 3 Months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator to join the Human Resources Team on a 3-month Fixed Term Contract. You will support the HR function in the delivery of an efficient and pro-active HR administration service, undertaking a wide range of admin tasks including; recruitment & selection, sickness absence monitoring, HR project support and the timely production of a range of HR statistical information.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, together with experience of working in an HR environment are essential, with an ability to prioritise your workload and work well under pressure. You will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with an HR qualification or working towards CIPD (desirable) and competence in MS Office and Excel skills. You will be will be versatile and skilled at managing customer enquiries and following them through to resolution. Evidence of working as part of a team and unsupervised where necessary and the ability to set up or improve processes and systems including IT databases are all key to this role.

  • Ensuring all HR procedures are adhered to within the Hospice and provide advice and assistance on straightforward HR procedures to managers and staff.
  • Ensuring an up-to-date and complete resource of HR Documentation.
  • Managing the end to end recruitment administration for PHC in collaboration with HR Administrator.
  • Issuing required documentation for the employee life cycle from Offer to Exit.
  • Ensuring all pre-employment due diligence checks are carried out.
  • To be the lead contact for the HR database and other software systems ensuring data is kept up to date, producing reports and providing support for the HR  and other teams.
  • HR records (manual and electronic) are kept up to date and held safely and securely.
  • Collecting and monitoring all types of data as  required.
  • Liaising with members of staff in the Hospice as required whilst adhering to Hospice policy on confidentiality relating to staff.
  • Preparing documentation for payroll for authorisation.

Peace Hospice Care (PHC) has been supporting people with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, from across the community in excess of 25 years.  Awarded ‘Outstanding’ for being caring by the Care Quality Commission in 2016, and ‘Good’ overall, we are an award-winning charity dedicated to supporting and empowering patients and their families.

Based in Watford, within a 5-minute walking distance of Watford High Street and Intu Shopping Centre, we cover 36 GP practices which serve a population of 320,000.  We offer a professional and exciting working environment supported by an open culture of learning and development for all our staff and volunteers.

Our three core clinical services are: Inpatient Unit, Starlight Outpatient Services and our Community Services.  We also host the West Herts Palliative Referral Centre.

In 2017 our Inpatient Unit was refurbished.  We have 12 specialist palliative and end of life short stay beds which operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week with the support of a multi-disciplinary team.

Our vision is to be the leading provider for specialist palliative and end of life care across South West Hertfordshire and the wider area. To support this vision, we have recently developed a five-year clinical strategy with the aim of reaching more people, and bringing high quality care closer to home.
