Healthcare Assistant – Inpatient Unit

Our Inpatient Healthcare Assistants deliver the highest level of focused care, being able to engage with the patients and their loved ones in our 12-bed Unit offering a home-from-home environment for loved ones to visit.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our committed Specialist Palliative Care Inpatient Unit team on a permanent, part-time contract.

Our Healthcare Assistants are an integral part of our team which delivers high-quality Specialist Palliative and End of Life care as part of the Inpatient Unit multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will proactively contribute to the delivery of high-quality, safe, evidence-based care and support the assessment, planning and evaluation of individualised patient-centred care, ensuring a holistic approach that is sensitive and responsive to the patients’ ever-changing needs.

Staff work shifts, including rotation between days/nights so that we deliver a 24/7 responsive and effective service to our patients.  There are 3 shifts in a 24-hour period, 7 days a week.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a team player
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Have a passion for learning
  • Have a holistic approach to patient-centred care
  • Be qualified to at least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
  • Ideally have experience of Palliative Care (this is not essential as full training will be provided)
