Head of HR & Volunteering – Fixed Term Contract

At Peace Hospice Care we are proud of our people, their dedication and of the excellent care we provide for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.  Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Peace Hospice Care has continued to deliver services and now we are looking forward – building on successes, driving growth and excellent service provision by our 120 employees and 450 volunteers.

Although this post is currently a Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2021, it will be reviewed regularly and may be extended in consultation with the post holder or ended. 

The Head of HR & Volunteering will be key to leading our people services, directly contributing to the success of the organisation through:

  • Developing and implementing strategy into forward-thinking plans and processes for the sustainability of the organisation
  • Effective project and change management to align with strategic aims
  • Data-driven reporting to influence and enable informed decision-making.

Reporting to the Director of Resources, the Head of HR & Volunteering will lead, develop and motivate a small, dedicated team to deliver proactive people services for the entire employee/volunteer journey.

This interesting and diverse role requires agility and professionalism and the successful candidate will be:

  • CIPD Level 7 qualified
  • A confident HR practitioner with up to date knowledge of legislation and best practice to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce risks
  • An effective and engaging communicator, both written and verbal
  • Skilled at building and maintaining productive working relationships
  • Value-focused, acting with integrity at all times
  • Approachable and a great team player
