Community & Events Fundraiser

Are you a people person?

Are you energetic, adaptable, approachable and a team player?

Are you passionate about a career in fundraising for your local charity?

We are looking for a creative, personable, income-driven Community & Events Fundraiser with a sense of fun to join our dedicated Fundraising Team.

You will engage with individuals and groups from all walks of life, such as schools and colleges, support groups and religious organisations. As well as this, you will be a key figure in the organisation of our Hospice led events (virtual and physical).

The fundraising activity you will be working on provides a vital source of income to Peace Hospice Care and helps to raise awareness and offers opportunities for us to connect with others about our cause. You’ll also gain broader experience across the fundraising mix and work closely with your Corporate fundraising colleagues.

• …be a real people person and a great communicator… able to establish and develop strong relationships with a diverse range of people and organisations so that we are the charity they choose to fundraise for.

• …have exceptional stewardship and administration skills with attention to detail… telling people that we appreciate their support is incredibly important, so that our supporters always feel valued and know that their fundraising makes a real difference. Whether over the phone, in writing or in person, you’ll provide exceptional stewardship.

• …be highly organised and a strong multi-tasker… no two days are ever the same in fundraising. You’ll need to be adaptable and excellent at prioritising a busy workload in a fast-paced environment.

• …enjoy working as part of a close-knit team sharing a common goal. As part of the team you will be enthusiastic about meeting our financial goals and motivated to succeed in your own personal targets, maintaining focus on return on investment.

Superb professional development opportunities

Excellent working environment that is supported by an open culture of learning and development for all our staff and volunteers.

Workplace pension with Peace Hospice Care matching contributions up to 7%. Alternatively, new clinical members of staff at Band E & above who have a current NHS pension can apply to continue their pension during their employment at the Hospice.

27 days’ annual leave per year rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service plus Bank Holidays (pro rata for part time employees)

Employee benefits including Cycle to Work and Computer purchase schemes
