Councillor Andrew Scarth, Chairman of Three Rivers District Council, from Oxhey Hall, will be fundraising for Peace Hospice Care during his term as Chairman.

Chairman Scarth said: "My wife, Alison, has been raising money for the charity for years through the South Oxhey Choir and this year I wanted to get involved too.

"Having visited the Hospice in Watford and witnessed the care they provide, it is evident that their patients are at the heart of everything they do and they clearly go above and beyond the call of duty to help patients. They are a brilliant workforce, supported by a team of volunteers, who are essential to their organisation; they all come together as a family to help the community.

"Peace Hospice Care provides an important service to the Hertfordshire community and allows people to have a choice. It's an extremely significant local charity where people are always welcome."

Declan Carroll, CEO of Peace Hospice Care said: "We are delighted that Chairman Scarth chose us as one of his charities in our 25th Anniversary year and we were very happy that him and his wife, Alison, came to visit us! Every year we need £5 million to run and develop our services, so the Councillor's support will really help us reach our goal."
