This year Peace Hospice Care held its first 'Charity Shop of the Year' Award.

Peace Hospice Care trades in 14 charity shops across Hertfordshire and to reward the hard work, innovation and ambition of their staff and volunteers, they have launched their new annual 'Charity Shop of the Year' shield. The first winner of the Charity's shield, for 2015/16, is their South Oxhey Furniture shop on St. Andrews Road!

The award is based on turnover and outstanding performance and is judged by Director of Trading, Steve Rose. Steve said: "In the last financial year, the shop exceeded its target by 17%! The South Oxhey Shop, which was previously a Boots store, was acquired by the Hospice in 2007 and has performed well consistently. All the signs are that the current management team and their wonderful team of staff and volunteers will continue to perform excellently in 2016/17."

Kim Bodman, South Oxhey Shop Manager, said: "We're thrilled to have received the award; we weren't expecting it at all! We do the best we can with what we're given, but we're very lucky that the local community give us good quality donations and really support us. We're driven by a challenge, so we will keep on trying to beat our targets!"

Dickon Trevett, Assistant Manager at the charity shop, said:"It's a fantastic store and we receive brilliant support from the team and our customers."
