Since the Watford and District Synagogue (WADS) Golfing Society started three years ago, they have been holding annual events to support Peace Hospice Care.

This year they held a restricted raffle and raised £1,400 for the Watford based Hospice!

The Society sold tickets for £25 and their prizes included: a golfing experience at The Grove, a meal at the Gherkin in London and a golfing experience at West Herts Golf Club.

Clive Walter and Barry Freed, founders of the WADS Golfing Society, said: "We're delighted to be supporting a worthwhile local cause. We are a Jewish community and Peace Hospice Care is a charity that is important to all denominations including the Jewish faith."

Tracey Bravo, Community Fundraising Manager, said: "We're very grateful for WADS Golfing Society's continued support and are delighted that they raised over £1000 for the Hospice. Every year the Hospice needs £5 million to run and develop its services, however we only get 23% of our funding from the NHS; so we really appreciate the hard work that WADS and our other supporters do to help us raise vital funds."
