This year the fourth Prudential RideLondon 100 cycle challenge will be on Sunday 31st July 2016.

Peace Hospice Care, has a small number of places for this world-class festival of cycling, but you'll need to be quick to grab one - the deadline to apply is Friday 27th May!

Liz Kennedy, Matron at Peace Hospice Care's Inpatient Unit, from St. Albans, took on the challenge with her husband and sons last year in memory of their friend Iain, who passed in the Hospice.

Liz Kennedy said: "Iain loved his family bike rides and was our inspiration for the ride. Cycling down the Mall together to the finish line, where we were supported and greeted by both his and our families was truly a special moment that we all treasure.

"The atmosphere and sense of achievement was amazing. I also think anyone can do it, with some training of course!

"We set ourselves a training target and worked towards it. It wasn't always easy, especially in the rain and the wind, but our resolve and goal kept us going. The end result was so worth it. We completed the 100 miles in 5 hours 45 minutes, under our 6 hour target, and we were all back to work the following day!

"I would recommend anyone who loves cycling to sign up and do this! It's a fantastic day and an amazing way to raise some money for Peace Hospice Care."

Liz was in the top 5% of fundraisers on Just Giving out of 532,124 fundraisers in 2015 having raised £1,377.25 for Peace Hospice Care. Together, with her family, they raised an incredible £4,829.45 for the Hospice.
