Two very special messages of support were sent to the participants of this year's Starlight Walk from pop star Jason Donovan and the brilliant tenor Russell Watson.

On Saturday 11 July, our annual Starlight Walk took place where nearly 600 women took to the streets of Watford to support Peace Hospice Care. Walking either a distance of 6 or 13 miles throughout the night, our determined Starlight Walkers set off at 9pm after a little bit of extra encouragement from some very familiar faces!

With thanks to Watford Colosseum, the Handshake Group and 3A Entertainment, Peace Hospice Care received some very exclusive messages wishing our Starlight Walk ladies the best of luck for their fantastic fundraising efforts. The first of these was from the brilliant Russell Watson, the UK's best-selling classical artist who has sold over seven million albums worldwide.

Russell has performed for some of the world's greatest figures including HM The Queen, the late Pope John Paul II who requested a private audience with Russell at The Vatican, former US president Bill Clinton and many, many more. He has also collaborated with the likes of Pavarotti, Lionel Richie and Cliff Richard to name but a few. Taking a moment from his hectic schedule, Russell kindly recorded an exclusive video message for Peace Hospice Care and the participants of the Starlight Walk. He will be live in concert at Watford Colosseum on Thursday 19 November, to find out more please click here.

The second surprise message came from a pop star, actor and eighities icon in the form of Jason Donovan! He shot to fame as the blue-eyed, blonde-haired heartthrob in the Aussie soap Neighbours and Peace Hospice Care were lucky enough to receive a fantastic message of support from him.

Watford Colosseum have described Jason as "a star of stage and screen, having performed on the musical theatre stage across the globe, he has appeared in hit musicals and leading shows from The Rocky Horror Show to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sweeney Todd, joseph, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and The Sound of Music." Jason also presents a radio show on Heart FM every Sunday, consistently releases albums and has taken part in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and Strictly Come Dancing. He will be live in concert at Watford Colosseum on 26 February 2016.

Thank you to all of the brilliant women that took part in the Starlight Walk and making the event a roaring success! We would also like to thank Watford Colosseum, the Handshake Group and 3A Entertainment for their help.
