Sheila is walking for her grandma, Sally is strolling for her dad, and a group of neighbours from Chorleywood are stepping out side by side simply to have a good time together.

In this year's Starlight Walk on Saturday July 11th, the women of Watford and beyond will be taking significant strides through the town  to raise funds for Peace Hospice Care.

Wearing luminous  twinkling  stars, and proud purple t-shirt, some will celebrate the life of a loved one, others will step up for a great night with the girls and all will play their part in supporting their local Hospice.

Peace Hospice Care Events and Community Fundraising Manager, Pete Watson, is getting ready for the annual walk and is appealing for more participants to sign up for the last 200 places.

'We are always astounded by women who take part in the Starlight Walk. They prove to us time and time again that they really do want to give back to their local Hospice.   We can't keep our services going without their commitment and capacity to help raise the 4.2 million of charitable income we need each year to run our Hospice.

'We are told by patients and  their families that at a time of illness or  bereavement, we made such a difference and offered the support that was needed. So many individuals and families decide to give back and walk for Peace Hospice Care.

'We are calling out to everyone to be part of this giant party atmosphere on the streets of Watford.'

Fun, luminous glow in the dark stars, purple t-shirts and a fantastic night of sisterhood is all part of the Starlight Walk.
