Fabulous fundraiser and Hospice volunteer, Elizabeth Timmons, was recognized for her long term services to the community with an invitation to attend the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.

Elizabeth, who has spent the past 25 years giving her heart, time and energy  to Peace Hospice Care and the community,  joined her daughter Geraldine at the Palace for the grand occasion.

Proudly stepping out in style and wearing a sunny smile, Elizabeth was delighted to take time off from her  busy schedule, enjoy the party and mingle with the Queen,  the Duke of Edinburgh and other attendees.

Over the past quarter century, Elizabeth's fundraising achievements have generated an incredible £200,000 for Peace Hospice Care. In addition to making money for the benefit of others, Elizabeth has chalked up 20 years as a Hospice volunteer and works once weekly in the Hospice Inpatient Unit. She has also given the community 48 loyal years of midwifery, bringing hundreds of babies into the world.

'It  really was such an honour  to be invited,' said Elizabeth. 'I just love fundraising for the Hospice and working in the Inpatient Unit and I loved every day of my life working as a midwife.  But this is not about me. I am so proud of all the people who helped me raise so much money and supported the Hospice. I thank them all.

'Peace Hospice Care is so important to this community and I never forget all the people who have been part of my fundraising. I was at the Palace for all of them.'
