A team of twenty Nordic Walkers raised more than £170 for Peace Hospice Care in a pre-Christmas woodland trek.

The 11km festive fundraiser took them through stunning scenery at the National Trust Ashridge Estate and was enjoyed by three local Nordic Walking groups from Rickmansworth, Watford and Tring.

Muddy moments, hills and miles were eased by blue skies, bright sunshine and coffee and cake replenishment along the way.

'The weather was perfect, we were just missing a little Nordic snow,' said Alison Smith from the Rickmansworth Nordic Walking group.

'We didn't charge for this walk but asked for a voluntary donation for Peace Hospice Care. It was a wonderful walk and for some it was the longest and hardest walk they had done and a real achievement.'
