Turning a shop showroom into an art gallery raised £500 for Peace Hospice Care and gave local artists an opportunity to display their work in the community.

The creative exhibition at Shopkit Designs in Watford was made possible by Emma de Souza from Distracted by Art -  a group of local artists who meet weekly under the watchful eye of tutor Martin Smith.

Paintings, photography, acrylics, jewellery, watercolours and more were on display to enjoy, buy or browse. Three paintings from a mouth artist were also submitted.

Support from the community was encouraging, and group members were delighted that their art could help raise funds for  Peace Hospice Care.

'I work as a GP and am very aware of the importance of hospice care,' said Emma de Souza who presented the cheque to Peace Hospice Care Events and Community Fundraising Officer Charlotte Harrison-Webb.  'We are very pleased to support Peace Hospice Care.
