A team of eager volunteers from Bushey Synagogue provided practical help in the Peace Hospice gardens.

Donating their time to help others and make a difference to someone's life was part of their Mitzvah Day commitment to the community.

This important day in the Synagogue calendar was welcomed by the Hospice,  and the team spent an enjoyable Sunday rolling up their sleeves and giving a facelift to worn and weary Hospice garden furniture.

They were helped by Roy, a  regular volunteer at the Hospice and were joined by Hospice Spiritual Care Coordinator, Rabbi Jason Demant.

'We thank Bushey Synagogue for supporting Peace Hospice Care on Mitzvah Day,'said Jason . 'Our Hospice gardens provide a peaceful space for patients and their families to enjoy and we welcome this practical contribution of volunteer help.'

Bushey Synagogue member Tara Shaw is keen to continue supporting Peace Hospice Care in the future.

'It was great working with the Hospice for Mitzvah Day and we hope that this is the beginning of an ongoing relationship. Peace Hospice Care is a cause close to so many people's hearts.'
