The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, Fergus McMullen sung the praises of Peace Hospice Care following his recent visit to meet patients, staff and volunteers.

Spending time with the Inspire Group in the Starlight Lounge, he experienced for himself  the heart behind the Hospice and the incredible work, commitment and pride in all services.

'I was very impressed to find out there are more than 650 unpaid volunteers and I was delighted to meet some of them,' he said.

'The facilities at the Hospice are very modern and it was a fabulous visit that made me so very proud to have such a wonderful facility in Hertfordshire.'

The High Sheriff, who had been in his role for the past six months, is committed to the work of volunteers throughout the county.

He will be presenting awards to nominated volunteers at the Peace Hospice Care Awards celebration night on Wednesday  November 19th and is delighted to be part of this annual event.
