Enchanting stories were shared, created and gently hung from the trees in a workshop for bereaved children and their families.

Set in the woodland gardens at the Hospice of St Francis, and using the ornate 'story telling chair' this shared initiative was facilitated by Peace Hospice Care Senior Social Worker Doreen Pattenson and Miranda Quinney.

Their story sharing skills encouraged the young participants to write their own tales on paper leaves as they relaxed in the delightful natural environment.

'The children really did seem to benefit from the story sharing and created some wonderful tales of their own,' said Doreen.

Doreen and Miranda have also been running 'Life Stories' workshops at Peace Hospice Care and recently presented their work at the Association of Palliative Care Social Workers Conference.

'We also had great response from our presentation at the Conference.  The feedback from delegates was very encouraging.'
