What would make you wade through water, march through mud and push your body through pulse pumping obstacles?
For Kwok Man from Croxley Green, it is the chance to remember his wife Kath who died at Peace Hospice Care in September 2012 and raise funds to support the Hospice.
Kwok has gathered a large team of 15 – 20 people to take part in Push it for the Peace on Saturday 20th September. It is the second time Kwok has signed up for this challenging event in Cassiobury Park, having raised an amazing £3,695 at the 2013 Push it for Peace.
Kwok has called his squad 'Team K' in his wife's memory. They are hoping to exceed last year's fundraising.
'The K in Team K is for Kath,' explains Kwok. 'Kath is our inspiration. She had Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, a rare type of cancer that she fought for 19 years with strength and determination. She was 'one of the bravest people most of us will ever know' who lived her life with strength and determination.
Kath found peace and sanctuary at the Hospice. The staff were so lovely to her and to me and did everything they could to help. It was somewhere special where Kath was able to relax and enjoy their treatments.
As a team we would like to raise money for the Hospice to help others to benefit from the fantastic service. We have new members in our team this year so hope to raise even more money. The 'Push it' event has also motivated me to get fit. The fitter you are, the more enjoyable the event.'
Kwok's team will be cheered on by his daughter Isabelle, family and friends and young supporters from Isabelle's school - Harvey Rd Primary. Kath's sisters Elle Wan and Liz Walsh are also taking part to remember Kath and raise funds for Peace Hospice Care.
