As a hospice charity Peace Hospice Care’s vision is to be the leading provider for Specialist Palliative and End of Life Care across South West Hertfordshire. To support this vision we have recently developed a 5 year clinical strategy with an aim to reach more people, and bring high quality care closer to home.
In 2017 our 12 bedded short stay In-Patient Unit, underwent a complete refurbishment. With an upgrade of the individual en-suite bedrooms, creation of an open family/carers lounge/kitchen area and redesign of the clinical space. In this senior role you will be responsible for the overall efficiency and effective operational management of the IPU ensuring the 24 hour service is able to meet our Palliative/End of Life patient and their families changing demands as well as ensuring safe staffing and clinical standards are maintained.
In this position it will be essential that you are able to demonstrate strong leadership abilities in the coordination of the multi –disciplinary team. This is achieved by managing a multi skilled nursing team and in collaboration with the wider IPU dedicated Medical and Allied Health Rehabilitation and Wellbeing team, and a range of different volunteer’s roles.
In the role you will be a core member of the integrated Senior Clinical Team, and will be required to proactively deliver upon the clinical services and wider organisational strategic objectives. You will also be responsible for the implementation of new service developments and initiatives, ensuring the best use of resources.
We are looking for a forward thinking Senior Palliative Care Clinician/Health Care Service Lead/Manager with experience of working in a bed based unit and ability to lead a team.
In 2016 our CQC rating was outstanding for care with an overall good. We would expect you to have experience of leading a team so they can demonstrate Effective, Responsive, Safe, Patient-centred, evidence based care.
Your outstanding character must align with our organisational values and you will be required to demonstrate that you want to make a difference and be an advocate for our patients, families and the population we serve.
