Take on a challenge which is a little different to your usual charity trek...

If you're looking to take on the challenge of a lifetime then we have the very thing for you. An amazing, once in a lifetime, trek through one of the world's most diverse rainforests in Borneo. You will traverse vibrant rainforests, scale Mount Kinabulu which stands at 4,000 metres tall and learn how to survive in the jungle.

Borneo hosts over 400,000KM˛ of ancient rainforest as well as many endangered animals, the most well-known being the Borneon Orangutan. It is a land of mountains, colourful jungle, beautiful rivers and friendly traditional villages.

This challenging trek will take you through the incredible rainforest of the Crocker range before tackling the highest mountain in Malaysia and Borneo, Mount Kinabulu. After completing this once in a lifetime experience you will then learn jungle survival skills and take part in 'I'm a Peace Hospice Care trekker, Get me Out of Here'.

The Timophon Trail, where you will begin your trek, is well used by travellers and climbers. The route begins with a descent before the trail winds up a steep staircase of gnarled tree roots to a mossy world of drifting clouds and orchid-draped trees.

On summit day you will wake early so that you can view the sunrise at the peak and the staggering views below. You will be able to walk above the clouds taking in the dramatic views while securely fastened to the side of the mountain.

After this it is then a transfer to the jungle where you will trek to set up your camp for two nights sleeping in the jungle learning how to survive in the wilderness. Set among primary rainforest with glorious flora and fauna you will make a campsite, identify edible fruits, foods as well as traditional medicine, make traps and navigate your way around.

It will then be time to head to Kota Kinabalu where you will join one of two groups. Group one will enjoy two days in Kota Kinabalu relaxing at their own leisure while group two will head to Sandakan to visit Sepilok Orangutan Centre, Sun Bear Centre and the Rainforest discovery Centre (additional cost applied). This will be followed by a day of leisure in Kota Kinabalu before returning home.
