Sunday 24th March 2019

Meeting point the Peace Pagoda in Battersea Park

If you are taking part in the London Bridges Walk please take the time to read the joining instruction below.

On the big day

Please arrive at our starting point, the Peace Pagoda in Battersea Park, between 9:30am and 10:30am.When you arrive, Peace Hospice Care staff will be on hand to sign you in. They will be easily identified as they'll be wearing Peace Hospice Care branded hi-viz vests. Once you have signed in and have collected your route map booklet, you will be able to start the walk straight away.

How do I get to Battersea Park?

The easiest way to get to Battersea Park is by public transport. If you're arriving into London Euston, the best way to get to the park is to take the Victoria Line underground from London Euston to Victoria. The park is then a 30 minute walk from the station. Alternatively, you can get the Victoria Line underground to Vauxhall and then take either the 344 or 156 bus to Battersea Park station. The Peace Pagoda is located in the park next to the Thames. For more information and to plan your journey we would recommend using the TFL journey planner:

The Route

The route will not be marshalled and it's your choice how quickly or slowly you decide to do the walk. Peace Hospice Care staff will be in position at the end of the route in Potters Fields Park from 3:00pm to 4:30pm, to sign you back in and give you your well-deserved medal!

If you're not going to be at the finish point by 4:30pm please call Lisa so that we know. We can always arrange to get your medal to you at a later date.

We won't be able to provide refreshments or water, so please remember to bring some with you and anything else you might need, such as suitable clothing and footwear.

Please be aware that the London Landmarks Half Marathon event is on the same day as our London Bridges Walk. This shouldn't disrupt the route too heavily but it could mean some parts of the route are busier than previous years. If you see any Peace Hospice Care runners cheer them on!

The London Bridges Walk is a really important event on our fundraising calendar - raising over £18,000 last year. Please help us to make 2019 even bigger and better by helping us raise as much money as possible for Peace Hospice Care.

We have included a pledge card in your pack. It would be really great if you could complete this and bring it along to hand in when you register.

Please don't bring any sponsorship money with you on the day as we won't be able to take this from you for security reasons. (Sponsorship money can always be delivered to the Hospice in person, Monday Friday, 9am 5pm, or by posting a cheque).

Many thanks for all your support and for joining us for our third London Bridges Walk; it's going to be a wonderful day!
