Supporting their families too
For patients who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness there is much we can do to help. Linking them into our free services as soon after diagnosis as possible gives them the opportunity to access a range of services, groups and activities all tailored around them and their goals.
So, whether a patient needs help with:
- wellbeing - we have a range of courses and groups including complementary therapy, mindfulness, social groups and creative arts
- emotional support - we have counselling and talking therapies
- rehabilitation - we have a range of activities which cover breathlessness, exercise and nutrition
We can help.
We also support patients and their families in their own homes and care settings as well provide pain relief, symptom management and end of life care in our Inpatient Unit at the Hospice.
Helping you to help more patients and families is our aim. The sooner we can support them after their diagnosis the better the outcome and outlook in empowering them to make the decisions that are important to them and in helping them achieve the best quality of life possible.
So, if you would like more information about our services, or to come and visit us here at the Hospice, then please do contact us on: 01923 330 330. You can also step inside and have a look around our Hospice with this short film.
