Approximately one in every 29 school students will experience the loss of a parent, which is one child in every class. School is of vital importance to young people who are bereaved as it provides a safe, familiar environment with predictable routines, and we know that students who are helped to manage their grief effectively in school are able to recover more quickly.
At Peace Hospice Care we offer bespoke training packages free of charge to education professionals which can be delivered according to the needs of individual schools. Our aim is to give all those who work with children the knowledge, strategies and confidence to support bereaved students within school in the most successful way possible.
