My Peace Marathon

Your Marathon, your pace, your way.

Walk, run, scoot, wheelchair, swim or cartwheel  your own Marathon distance at your own pace for Peace Hospice Care. If you’d love to do a marathon but didn’t think you could, do we have the thing for you!

By spreading the miles across days, weeks or months, it’s  a great event to do with the children, friends, family, colleagues, friends from the pub, the dog, we really don’t mind!! Getting everyone outside enjoying some fresh air and exercise is great for your mental and physical health.

My Peace Marathon really is open to everyone. All you need to do is track your 26.2 miles and raise £26.20p for Peace Hospice Care in sponsorship.

If you run a children’s activity group such as Brownies, cubs, toddler dance or a playgroup then why not get the children involved? Those with the littlest legs could even do it in a group. When we have received your mileage we will send you and any other participants a medal and a great big thank you from us.

The most innovative and exciting ways chosen to complete the marathon distance (photos must be provided) will be shown on our social media and may even win a small prize!

Those with the littlest legs can come in and meet Harvey Bear if they wish and he will present them with their certificates.

Michelle Foster, Lisa Brewster, and Nikki Barnard took on this challenge together and completed it in just two weeks and raised over £3,000 for Peace Hospice Care! Here’s what they thought of the experience…

‘We loved the whole thing! Right from the planning stage, choosing our route and the amount of days we’d do it over to the very last run. We had so much support and were cheered on by family, friends, colleagues, and school Mum’s and Dad’s. We wanted to do it in the shorter time frame then the 1,3 or 6 months that were recommended as we really wanted to push ourselves and loved being able to tick off each mile/km as we completed them. And seeing the donations go up and up was so exciting. For anyone thinking about taking part, absolutely do it! It was so much fun and so satisfying to tick off those distances each time we did them. A fantastic idea for people who perhaps can’t make it to the big events and are just starting out with running.’
