The pain will pass but the pride will last.
Have you got the grit to take the glory of finishing this race?
Take on Peace Hospice Care’s newest fundraising event on Sunday 1st March and really challenge yourself in the inaugural muddy, wet and dirty 10km run in Lees Wood, Fir Tree Hill, Chandlers Cross, Rickmansworth, Herts, WD3 4LY.
There are two races:
- 10 am start – The Grit and Glory 10km
- 10.30am start – The Grit and Glory TAB (carrying a weighted rucksack)
You will take part in either a tough 10km run, or for those of you brave enough, bring along your own weighted Bergen and take part in the first ever tabbing race in Watford. The route has been devised and tested by Craig O’Toole from ManAlive Fitness Ltd so you are in for a real treat.
For those of you not in the know, a Bergen is a forces style ‘rucksack’ used for carrying everything needed when advancing into battle and is typically weighted in races at around 35lb. The term ‘TAB’ denotes ‘Tactical Advance into Battle’ giving some idea of the challenge you will face with a weighted Bergen on your back.
The route for both races is undulating to say the least and you will not be getting any PB’s for your fastest 10km run. However, you will feel immense pride at the end of the race and will definitely have earned your medal.
Although this is a challenge we absolutely encourage anyone of any ability to take part and we will support you every step of the way with our group of amazing volunteers and marshals. No one is left behind.
