Feeling the heat beneath their feet, 53 brave fundraisers walked, run, dashed and dared to step out over burning hot embers in a Peace Hospice Care Firewalk.
In preparation for their hot moment on the burning embers, the participants were given a two hour workshop to install confidence and camaraderie for the all important heated walk.
The night on the coals proved a popular event for the fundraisers. A great night of music and community achievement was also enjoyed with fundraisers making an incredible £7,000 for the Hospice.
Peace Hospice Care Corporate Fundraising Manager Vicky Luk said 'We thank everyone for taking part in the Firewalk. It was an extraordinary night and a great success as a fundraiser. We had Firewalkers taking part who had come all the way from Blackpool. We also had a group of Companions from Emmaus charity in St Albans who were keen to support the Hospice. Everyone seemed to have a very good time. Walking on fire gave so many a great sense of achievement.
'We also want to thank Sun Postal Sports Club for saving the day by offering us their venue last minute and the band Lucy and the Bongo Shoes for keeping us entertained with some great music.'
