Local car dealership Steven Eagell Toyota has helped Peace Hospice Care secure a donation of £1,800 from the Toyota Fund for a Better Tomorrow.
The money is to be used to fund activity days for bereaved children and young people as part of the Hospice's STARS Support Programme.
Peace Hospice Care Children and Young People's Coordinator, Jo Derry said 'Supporting young people who are facing loss and bereavement is so important in enabling them to develop coping mechanisms and preventing a harmful impact on their development. We are delighted to have received this donation from the Toyota Fund for a Better Tomorrow and are very grateful to Steven Eagell Toyota for their support.'
The whole team at Steven Eagell are behind the project, including Managing Director Steven Eagell, Directors Gary Smith and Bryan Portsmouth, General Manager Irfan Munir and Business Centre Manager Kamran Shah.
Kamran, who worked hard to negotiate the largest possible donation, explained 'At Steven Eagell Toyota we consider it important to be a part of the local community - we are not just there to sell cars! We think that supporting bereaved children is essential and are excited to be able to contribute to the STARS Programme.'The first activity day funded by the Toyota Fund for a Better Tomorrow is expected to take place later this year.
