We deliver, and are well-known for, our high quality of care across all of our patient services. Education and training underpins that and is essential, too, in helping us to support and enhance the skills of health and care professionals across South West Hertfordshire and the wider area working in palliative care. We also provide education and training for non-clinical staff working at Peace Hospice Care.
In the last financial year we:
- Launched our Management Development Programme for Middle Managers and our Executive Team to improve knowledge and skills and to facilitate better cross-departmental working
- Delivered 126 internal learning and development opportunities with 1,037 attendances
- Facilitated 18 training sessions to 229 external colleagues
- Trained 70 paramedics in essential end of life skills, in collaboration with the Hospice of St Francis and East of England Ambulance Trust
This year we also pitched a work experience programme and we’re delighted that three students from West Hertfordshire spent time with us as part of that – in both clinical and non clinical settings. The students who took part were very positive about the experience and it helped us too to understand better the perceptions some young people have of hospice care.
Keep a look out for out 2018 work experience opportunities coming soon. For more information on our training please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
